Netflix reality show, Young, Famous and African is trending – has been since it’s premiere. The show features some of the best African stars among them East Africa’s Diamond Platnumz and his ex Zari Hassan.
The show also stars Nigeria’s Annie Macaulay and her hubby, 2Baba Idibia, South Africa’s Khanyi Mbau, Zimbabwe’s Nadia Nakai, Andile Cube, and Swanky.
Just like some reality TV shows, this one looks like one of the well-scripted ones.

In the entire season, most of the cast invite other cast members for their events, where every event has drama that unfolds. This ends up looking like all the events are specifically planned to create excitement.
At Zari’s train event, Swanky looked more like he was acting than he was angry while addressing the issue of people splitting the group.
At the same event, Khanyi Mbau is angry at Zari for making a speech at her own event. This looked contrived as in normal events the host has to speak to the assembled people.
When Andile visits Zari unannounced, it didn’t add up considering that the two had just gotten to know each other. In the script, he was meant to find Diamond in Zari’s house.

Khanyi and DJ N@k3d evidently show their acting skills at the bar where the two of them argue about their relationships.
During Diamond’s date with Nadia Nakai, the two were meant to buy a car at the same time get to know one another. We are not told whether the singer finally purchased the car.

The show made it look like everyone was Khanyi Mbau’s friend and that each one of them had a past with her.
However, Annie Idibia seems to be the one who presents the show as a ‘reality show’ as she speaks of her real-life experiences with her husband Innocent Idibia. The two later renew their marriage vows at the end of the season.
