To keep their threats true, a section of Azimio One Kenya Coalition principals on Wednesday, July 19 joined supporters in the streets to compel the government to listen and address the grievances raised by Kenyans over the biting cost of living.In a statement to give a review of Wednesday protests, Raila called supporters to end demos at 5PM this he said will enable them recharge and resume for the second day of the three day demos.

In a bid to pile more pressure on president Ruto to address the concerns raised, Raila increased the frequency of anti-establishment protests from once a week to thrice and Wednesday’s demos marked the start of the new model of Azimio go slows against State.The former prime minister lauded Kenyans for making Wednesday protests a success. He also condemned the arrest of Azimio leaders among them the Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino.In an alleged attempt to frustrate Azimio’s plans, government arrested a number of ODM leaders believed to be the forces powering the protests.

Speaking in South Rift during his tour, the president has ruled out the chances of him having handshake with Odinga saying the ordeal will plunge the country into a mess as it allegedly did after Raila-Uhuru feat in 2018.
