There has was a moment of laughter today morning during the Joint National Executive Retreat and Parliamentary Group Consultative Meeting after President Ruto revealed he expected to have a Bonfire with the leaders when he arrived at Naivasha on Sunday Evening.

According to the President on Sunday Evening he arrived at Naivasha and on his mind he expected to have a Bonfire meeting with the leaders. However he found out that most of the leaders were not there. President Ruto suspected that the leaders had other assignments leaving the tent bursting out into seconds of laughter.

“I came last evening. I thought we were going to have a bonfire but I found many of you had already (pauses and looks at the leaders) I think you had other assignments” President Ruto said as the leaders including the head of state burst out into seconds of laughter.

It is not clear why this excited the leaders. However a past revelation by Former Majority leader Aden Duale could hint at why the statement by President Ruto left the leaders laughing uncontrollably.

In his book, For the Record launched last year, Duale reveals about the immoral side of Kenyans MPs.

Duale said that Drivers and MPs smuggle young ladies baptized as Laptops to the MPs’ rooms during retreats for night long escapades.

This could arguably be the reason why most MPs were excited when President Ruto suspected that they had other ‘assignments’ after they missed his bonfire meeting on Sunday Evening.
