Karen Nyamu, the Nairobi senator has stirred up a controversy with her recent marriage advice. In an interview with [The Star], Nyamu said that women should allow their men to take care of them financially and emotionally, because that is what men are wired to do.

“If you don’t let your man take care of you, he’s going to find somebody he can take care of because that’s his element as a man. He wants to feel like he’s providing for you, he’s protecting you, he’s nurturing you. That’s how he expresses his love,” Nyamu said.

Nyamu, who is a single mother of two, said that she learned this lesson the hard way after her failed relationships. She said that she used to be too independent and assertive, which made her men feel insecure and threatened.

“I used to think that I don’t need a man, I can do everything by myself, I can pay my own bills, I can make my own decisions. But I realized that this was pushing away the men who wanted to be with me. They felt like I didn’t appreciate them, I didn’t respect them, I didn’t need them,” Nyamu said.

Nyamu said that she has changed her attitude and is now more open to receiving help and support from her partner. She said that this has improved her relationship and made her happier.

“I have learned to let go of my ego and let my man be the man. I have learned to accept his gifts, his compliments, his advice, his guidance. I have learned to trust him and follow his lead. I have learned to be more feminine and submissive. And I can tell you, it works wonders. My man treats me like a queen, he spoils me, he adores me, he respects me. He makes me feel like the most beautiful and special woman in the world,” Nyamu said.

Nyamu’s advice has sparked mixed reactions from the public, with some agreeing with her and others criticizing her. Some have praised her for being honest and realistic, while others have accused her of being outdated and sexist.
