Kenyans were on Friday left in shock after Rwandan president Paul Kagame announced that he has bid for his country to host the Formula one (F1) race competitios. He said that if this request is granted it will bring a thrill in Africa as the competition is one of the greatest in the world.

This revelation by Kagame immediately sparked a heated debate in Kenya as people wondered how a small country like Rwanda had developed so fast to be able to host the Formula one competition. It is known that for a country to make such a bid they are confident about the state of their roads.

Kenyans were surprised that Rwanda which is way too young and with less resources than Kenya was developed to an extent they now want to host the F1. A heated debate rose on the internet as people criticized the leadership of the country for failing to foster development.

Rwanda is also planning to host the African Cup of Nations and this has also raised concerns among Kenyans as we don’t have a single stadium that is up to standard to host the games. This poses more challenge to our government to work more harder to achieve the same development as Rwanda.
