The leader of the besieged Orange Democratic Movement party Raila Odinga has today met dissenting members of the Azimio coalition led by Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka, KANU boss Gideon Moi, Jubilee’s Jeremiah Kioni and PNU’s Peter Munya.
Also present during the meeting was Siaya county governor James Bob Orengo who has recently appeared not to agree with the president move to raid the ODM camp with juicy cabinet slots.
Speculations are rife following the meeting keeping in mind that Raila has been out to tame any division within the ODM party and the larger Azimio coalition.
Most notable about the meeting is that Narc Kenya boss Martha Karua who was Raila’s running mate in the 2022 general elections was missing from the press photo taken shortly after the meeting.
Also, DAP-K leader and former cabinet secretary for Defense Eugene Wamalwa was evidently not present during the meeting. He and Karua have been on the frontline opposing the apparent dalliance between the president and the opposition.
It remains to be seen whether these dissenting voices will change route and tone down their opposition of the ODM party boss. Karua has already notified the Azimio governing council of her intent to exit the marriage.
