Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua led the nation in celebrating National Labour Day at Uhuru Gardens alongside President William Ruto. The second-in-command congratulated the Hustler Nation for being in the forefront of the movement to ensure our nation’s success. As Ruto works to stabilize the economy, he advised them to conserve for the time being.
Kenyans had to boo him though after he declared that the Kenya Kwanza administration had lowered the price of maize flour to KSh 150. The majority of people expressed disagreement and displeasure over the high pricing on the shelves. This made him clarify what he had said.
On his side, the President remarked that the process of lowering the cost of living has started and that it won’t happen overnight but rather through incremental and consistent action. His first action is to increase funding for food security and agriculture. He also forewarned Millers against storing maize and promised to deal with them.
