Her quality as a journalist is never in doubt. In fact, she is one of the most talented women in Kenya’s media space today.
An articulate news anchor and a smart interviewer, for the last 11 years, Wanuna was the face of KTN News. But now, the curtains have fallen on her stellar career at Mombasa Road-based media house.
On Tuesday, April 18, 2022, it emerged that Wanuna had joined the long list of those who had quit KTN News amid the financial meltdown at the Standard Media Group which owns the station.
Until her resignation from the once popular TV station, Wanuna served as deputy TV Managing Editor. Her quick rise at the station is testament to her talent.
And now, the former Morning Express show host is out. The Checkpoint Sunday night show host is gone. And one of the moderators of the 2022 Deputy Presidential candidates debate will no longer be seen on KTN News TV screen.
It is no doubt that Wanuna is appreciated by top media houses in the country. Will she bounce back in style in the next few days?
Or will she follow the likes of Larry Madowo and Ferdinand Omondi into the international media?
