During the burial of Lucy Wambui on November 5, 2024, her eldest son, Brian Ng’ang’a, faced a heartbreaking moment when he could not complete his tribute to her.
The service took place at their family farm in Red Hill, Limuru, and was filled with emotions as family and friends gathered to honor Lucy’s memory.
As Brian began to speak, he shared how much his mother meant to their family. He described her as a loving and supportive woman who always put her family first. He said, “Today, we are here with heavy hearts to remember a woman who gave everything for her family. She filled our lives with love, warmth, and endless support.”
However, as he continued, the emotions became too overwhelming for him, and he struggled to keep going.
In a touching moment, Brian signaled to a family member nearby to help him finish his tribute. He said, “My mom was more than just… please come finish…” This moment showed the deep bond he had with his mother and how much he was affected by her loss.
After Brian stepped back, a family member took over and continued reading the tribute, sharing fond memories of Lucy.
The attendees listened closely, reflecting on the love and kindness Lucy had shown throughout her life. The atmosphere was filled with both sorrow and appreciation for the beautiful life she led.
Following the service, Brian took a moment to collect himself. He stepped away from the crowd to gather his thoughts and emotions.
He later joined his family and friends, sharing hugs and comforting each other. The support from his loved ones helped him cope with the overwhelming feelings of loss.
