National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, has upheld the decision by the Azimio members of parliament to strip off Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege’s role as Deputy Minority Whip. In a ruling made on October 25, speaker of National Assembly Moses Wetangula confirmed her dismissal from the parliamentary role. The nominated member of parliament Sabina Chege has been replaced by Embakasi West Member of Parliament Mark Mwenje.
” Current there is no bar against the decision made by the minority party to replace its Whip. In their regard, Mark Mwenje replaces Sabina Chege as the Deputy Whip of the Minority party,” Wetangula ruled. Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi had written to speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula, communicating the decision by the Azimio to remove Sabina Chege as the Deputy Minority Whip a decision that was made vehemently opposed by the Jubilee MPs.
