Stephen Kasolo has been under the cosh the past week. This after a video surfaced of him threatening to kill his young daughter after she broken an ‘expensive’ water bottle.
Despite apologising for this via social media, there are Kenyans who believe what he did should be investigated by the authorities.
Kasolo himself recently spoke to Tuko’s Caren Nyota. In the interview, he revealed that he didn’t know the video was a joke and would go viral.
“I didn’t see anything wrong with it, we were just hanging out with my baby. On Saturday, her grandfather told me the video wasn’t in good taste and I deleted it but someone had already downloaded it and shared it on Facebook,” he explained.
The gospel singer explained that he had been contacted by many people including by some pastors.
Adding: “I have spoken to many people including children’s rights activists that have called me and told me never to do that again. Pastors also called me many times, advised me and prayed for me and told me to pray,” he said.
Kasolo would apologosie again to his fans over the video saying, “I’m sorry to my fans, I had no ill intentions towards my daughter.”
What is interesting about the tasteless video is that some Kenyans online came out to defend Kasolo’s horrible parenting style.
Those defending him said that they saw no wrong with what he did but were upset with him releasing the viral video in the first place.
Talk about cognitive dissonance.
