Junior Secondary School teachers have declared their next course of action if the Kenyan Government fails to harken to their strategic demands, amongst them being a salary increment.

Addressing during a media presser today the 30th day of November 2023, the Junior Secondary School teachers have alleged that they have being receiving Ksh17,000 as monthly monthly salary every month.

The Junior Secondary School teachers expressed their disgust on their monthly salary, articulating that the amount was minimal owing to the skyrocketing cost of living currently being witnessed in the country.

In addition to the strategic request on increment of salaries, the Junior Secondary School teachers championed the Kenyan Government to domicile the Junior Secondary School cadre of education at secondary schools.

“Come January, we are going to our work places with our confirmation letters. We are not going to renew our contracts, or else, come January we are going to down our tools. The government must confirm the JSS teachers. They should domicile the JSS in secondary schools come January. We are tired because Ksh17,000 at this point in time in the economy of Kenya is not enough for a teacher in this country,” JSS teacher stated.
