A truck carrying over ten people was tragically trapped in floodwaters from the River Kwa Muswii near Sultan Hamud in the Kasikeu area in Makueni county.

In an attempt to free the individuals trapped in the truck and bring them to safety, rescuers encountered difficult circumstances. The fast and rising water made it hard to rescue everyone. Nevertheless, the rescue crews persisted and made a great effort to save as many lives as they could.

This incident shows how floods can be very dangerous, especially in places where it rains a lot and rivers overflow. This serves as a reminder to always exercise caution and prepare for such situations. It also demonstrates the significance of having teams prepared to assist in times of disaster.

Buildings that are more resilient to flooding should be constructed, people should be taught safe evacuation procedures during floods, and similar issues should be avoided in the future.

Upon reflection, we will likely assess our response to this incident and determine how we can improve moving forward. When situations like these arise, we want to make sure that our rescue teams are equipped and prepared to assist those in need.
