Wanja Nyarari shocked many online by releasing private WhatsApp messages with her late sister as she continues to grieve her loss.

She opened up about painful family moments and how old chats show just how much she fought negativity in her life.

Wanja’s sister, Nancy Wanjiku Wanja, was more than a sibling — she was like a second mother to her after they lost their mum and grandmother. Nancy died on January 14 at Kenyatta National Hospital after battling acute bronchitis for years. She was buried beside their grandmother at Lang’ata Cemetery on January 23.

In a tribute on social media, Wanja shared a WhatsApp thread from 2021 where Nancy reached out not just as family, but as a supporter through tough times.

One message from Nancy asked if the hostility Wanja faced from relatives had pushed her toward depression. Wanja responded honestly, admitting she’d always struggled with some family negativity but stayed strong.

The chats show Wanjiku trying to lift her sister’s spirits. She was worried about the “hate and betrayal” people threw at Wanja. Wanja replied with a powerful reflection on critics, saying:

“Haters are just confused fans who don’t know how to clap… I rose without permission.”

She said pressure didn’t break her — it introduced her to strength. Her message has resonated with many supporters online.

Sharing the chats was Wanja’s way of honoring her late sister’s support and reminding everyone that healing comes from remembering love, not hate.
