President William Ruto has finally made a response to those criticizing his ‘Wataenda mbinguni’ remarks. The president firmly reiterated his stand on his previous remarks on how he will deal with cartels.
While speaking during his meeting with Western Kenya farmers, the president noted that he will continue to fight against cartels whom he accused of being busy killing the sugar sector in the Western region. Ruto also affirmed that he won’t bow to those criticizing his previous remarks.
“Kuna watu wananipigia makelele ati naharibu…watu wa Azimio wametoa statement wakitetea wezi ( Some people are making noice that am causing destruction…the Azimio side have issued a statement while defending the thieves).” President Ruto noted.
Earlier, a few days ago president William Ruto ilicited mixed reactions across the country after he gave out three conditions to corrupt individuals who are running the sugar sector. In one of his three conditions, the president noted that the sugar cartels will be transported to heaven (‘Watapelekwa mbiguni’) incase they fail to adhere to the government’s directives.
President Ruto’s remarks attracted the attention of the opposition leaders whom later issued a statement demanding that the president to withdraw the statement.
