Women beaten at Bethel church in Kapkwen, Bomet County were treated at Hospital and discharged.

According to a report from a local source, the woman received serious beatings from their Pastor and ushers at Bethel Church located in Bomet County.

A section of the victims narrated the shocking ordeal that they were subjected to at the Church, and which resulted in them being treated at Hospital .

According to one of the victim identified as Mercy Rono, she travelled to the Church in search of ‘spiritual food’ only to be given a serious beating.

She revealed that at the church, the Pastor ordered ushers to rush outside and bring canes to be used to beat demons out of her. She at first thought the pastor was just speaking in tongues but in no time, the ushers came in with canes and what followed next was a thorough beating.

“He told the male ushers, ‘run outside and bring canes and close the doors.’ I thought he was just talking, but they went out and came back with canes which they shared amongst themselves, heavy ones. Then the pastor slapped me and I fell down before the ushers joined in to cane me. They beat and beat me, and I screamed until I said ‘Jesus save me’. And that’s when I found myself outside” Mercy Rono narrated when loosely translated from Kalenjin.

She further revealed that in the church, there is no reading of the Bible or singing of hymns, only getting in and going forward for prayers.

Reports indicate that the victims were treated at Bomet Health Center and discharged following injuries they sustained after the beatings.

Police have also commenced Investigations into the shocking incident.
