On Wednesday morning, the hosts of the Gidi na Ghost show on Radio Jambo, Gidi Ogidi and Jacob Ghost Mulee, celebrated veteran radio and TV broadcaster Leonard Mambo Mbotela on his birthdayThe two renowned presenters honored Mbotela as a role model and praised his remarkable work and long life.

“Today is the birthday of Kenya’s broadcasting legend Leonard Mambo Mbotela, who is listening to us right now. This is a man who has lived for 84 years,” Gidi said live on air during the Wednesday morning show.

Jacob Mulee noted that the veteran broadcaster is a great friend of theirs and also a fan of their morning show on Radio Jambo.

The former Harambee Stars coach highlighted that they have learned a lot from Mr. Mbotela, which has helped them become celebrated broadcasters as well.”That is a blessing from the Almighty, Gidi. And he is our true friend, also a listener of Radio Jambo. And we have modeled our broadcasting after Gidi like him. So, happy birthday,” Ghost said.

The two presenters continued to joke about the famous show ‘Je, huu ni Ungwana?’ which Mr. Mbotela was known for before singing the ‘Happy Birthday’ song to him. They also wished the veteran broadcaster a long and healthy life.

About a year ago, Gidi and Ghost met with veteran broadcaster Leonard Mbotela and had an open conversation with him. Gidi shared some of the good times they had with the broadcasting legend on his social media pages.
