Gilgil residents took to the streets on Monday calling out UDA MP Martha Wangari over ‘bad leadership’.

The irate youths blocked roads with burning tyres disrupting the traffic flow on some major routes in the county.

The protesters urged President William Ruto, who doubles as UDA Party Leader to intervene and save their constituency.

They have blamed MP Martha Wangari for shifting the Kongasis Market project, awarded by President Ruto, to another area, leaving them without a market.

According to report, protesters complained about lack of electricity in their area, water among other things.

Chaos erupted in Kongasis, Elementaita Gilgil, Nakuru County as irate residents stormed the streets to demonstrate against the ill leadership they have been facing by the MP.

Police officers lobbed teargas cannisters to disperse protesters who were blocking roads.

Some police officers tried to engage in conversations with the protesters to talk them out of the demonstrations, while other officers arrested some of the protesters.
