Tanzanian singer Vanessa Mdee and her husband, actor and musician Rotimi, have been trending on social media following breakup rumors.

Vanessa and Rotimi’s love story dates back to 2019 when they met at the Essence Festival in New Orleans.
The Tanzanian songstress revealed in a previous interview that she knew almost immediately that Rotimi would be her future husband, feeling a deep connection just days after meeting him.
Following a brief long-distance phase, Vanessa relocated to the United States and also announced her decision to exit what she described as a toxic music industry.
