The return of Donald Trump to the White House will be perilous for President William Ruto, Kenyan politicians have warned.
Ruto has been enjoying close ties with President Joe Biden who dislodged Republican’s Trump in 2020.
The Kenyan Head of State has been very vocal in supporting US policies in LGBTQ, clean energy and security such as deploying police officers to the hostile Caribbean nation Haiti.
Now, vocal politician Brian Mutiga who has repeatedly claimed Ruto was installed by the West has said his fall will begin with the re-election of Trump in the poll slated for next year.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday, he described Ruto as Biden’s puppet saying Trump will ensure he does not retain power in 2027.
“Puppets like President Ruto will FALL when Donald Trump wins in 2024. He won’t tolerate Despots. Either way, President Ruto will be a ONE TERM PRESIDENT,” Mutiga posted.
Similar sentiments were echoed by outspoken blogger Maverick Aoko who said if Trump wins US presidency, and Azimio leader Raila Odinga endorses another person to rival Ruto, that would be the end of the UDA leader.
“I will fast and pray Donald Trump wins. Kenya will be a huge casualty. Ruto atarudi Sugoi asubuhi. Then Raila needs to be a kingmaker. I don’t trust him Not with the fools like Makau Mutua, drug lords like Joho, briefcase mavens like Junet as his circle. Ruto needs to GO!” Aoko posted.
