On Thursday, Makueni governor Mutula Kilonzo urged US president Donald Trump to have a second thought on the withdrawal of aid through USAID, letting out that currently in his county, people are suffering and the situation is going to turn worse if the support by USAID is not reinstated.

In a statement Governor Kilonzo made, he said that in his county, persons from the age of 22 to 34 are overwhelmed by mysterious diseases such as TB, HIV, and malaria, and with the absence of drugs in the county to cure the diseases, conditions of the people will not be promising.

He added that more than 260 people of the Makueni County are working for the USAID, stressing that its shutdown will result in them losing jobs.

According to the governor, his county alone can’t assemble strategies to end the diseases alone because there are no funds, whereby the withdrawal of the AID through USAID is a major setback for his people.
