President William Ruto visited Busia County today, Sunday January 21, 2024 where he attended a church service then addressed people at Angurai market.
While giving his speech, one of the hustlers who was in the crowd shouted attracting his attention. President Ruto paused to listen to the youth who requested him to talk about electricity.
The first in command laughed sarcastically as he asked the hustler why he wanted him to rush with his speech yet he was not in a hurry. According to him, his complexion makes him fit in the Teso community stating that he can even spend the night there if he wanted. He then jokingly asked who had send the hustler to ask him about electricity.
The President said, “Wewe unaniharakisha umesikia mimi niko na haraka ya kwenda wapi? Si wacha nipange pole pole. Na nikiamua kulala hapa utafanya nini? Si hii sura yangu ya weusi nakaa tu kama nyinyi? Sasa huyu jamaa ananiharakisha ati niseme mambo ya stima sijui ametumwa na nani. (Who told you I’m in a hurry to go somewhere for you to rush me like that? Please let me arrange my speech slowly. What if I decide to spend a night here, what will you do? With my complexion I fit in this community. Now this guy is hurrying me to talk about electricity, I don’t know who send him.)”
