President William Ruto and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi have announced a series of new government appointments through a gazette notice.
Among the appointments was that of Captain Kungu Muigai, a cousin of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, whose membership to the Kenya Cultural Centre Council was quashed by the court less than a month ago.
Mudavadi, who also serves as the Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, the Arts, and Heritage, made key state appointments, including Muigai’s, a cousin of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Muigai will serve as the Chairperson of the Kenya Cultural Centre Council for a two-year term.Additionally, Mudavadi appointed John Odek as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Museums of Kenya for a three-year term, while Halima Daud was appointed to the National Government Affirmative Action Fund Board for the same period.
President Ruto appointed Ndungu Athinji as the Chairperson of the Kenya Tea Board for a three-year term, revoking the appointment of Jacob Kamau Kahiu, who previously held the position.
