The Maasai community has come out to demand the return of the land that was taken during the former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration, which has put him in hot water.
According to reports, members of the Maasai group have vowed to forcibly reclaim territory that is situated along the borders of the Narok and Naivasha subcounties.
The members claim that the 75,000-acre plot of property was taken by Uhuru Kenyatta’s immediate predecessor administration, and they have already partially torn down the fence surrounding it.
They further assert that armed police personnel are currently guarding the site, and they are expecting that President William Ruto will step in to help them reclaim their land since he ordered the return of port operations to Mombasa.
There is no doubt that the legitimate owners would receive a pardon because the aforementioned land is located near the Naivasha dry port, a project that was undertaken under Uhuru’s tenure.
