Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday toured Jubilee party headquarters in Kileleshwa after police officers lobbed teargas to disperse supporters of Kanini Kega and Jeremiah Kioni. Uhuru used the occasion to hit out at police officers who lobbed teargas at a residential area.

While addressing the media, one resident confronted the retired President asking him to relocate the Jubilee party headquarters from Kileleshwa to another area that is not near the residential area.

The old man said that his grandkids were affected by the teargas that was lobbed by police officers. He said that he was forced to ask his driver to take his grandchildren to some other area until when the situation calms down.

Uhuru Kenyatta on his side said that he is aware of the pain that the police officers caused. He added that they rented the building in good faith and they had no intention of disrupting their peace.

He said that it is only their offices that were attacked by some individuals who caused chaos in the entire neighborhood. He told the old man that he understands his pain and he hopes that the government and the police also understands the pain the old man was experiencing.
