Having maintained a low profile since leaving statehouse eight months ago, former president Uhuru Kenyatta has allegedly send a subtle warning to the head of state regarding the collapsed bipartisan talks.

As relayed by a report covered on kenyans.co.ke, former head of state while in Nigeria claimed he was backing for talks to unite the country.

According to Mr Kenyatta, Ruto’s winner take it mentality will cause more chaos in the country and escalate division.

Further, he noted that Ruto’s government’s move of attacking the former prime minister Raila Odinga and isolating him in talks would state’s development as investors will as well refrain from visiting the country.

” I remain alive to the fact that I must continue to play a part in fostering peace in my own country of Kenya”, he said.

” I use my voice and platform to persuade, especially those in power, that dialogue with those in opposition to their victory is not a weakness nor is it a denial of their victory but rather a much-needed tool for creating a more inclusive Kenya that sets a forward development trajectory”, he added.

His statement comes off days after Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition’s leaders pulled out of bipartisan talks saying Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza camp isn’t ready to meet demands raised by former prime minister Raila Odinga.

Speaking, Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna claimed they failed to agree on lowering the cost of living, restructuring of IEBC commission and other major issues.
