Maragua Member of Parliament Mary Wamaua was left visibly surprised after a public engagement took an unexpected turn when residents failed to show support for President William Ruto’s government.
The incident happened during a public meeting in Maragua Constituency, where the MP was addressing residents on development issues and national politics. As part of her address, Wamaua sought to gauge public opinion about the current administration.
She asked the crowd how many of them were ready to re-elect President Ruto and his government in the next general election. The question was meant to test political loyalty and enthusiasm among the residents.
However, the response from the crowd was striking. No one raised their hand. The silence that followed made the moment awkward and revealing. The MP paused briefly, clearly taken aback by the reaction.
