The TV presenter’s statement came after her boss, Mr. Kiengei, also apologized to Pritty Vishy for the offensive remarks he made during the IHUHUKANIO show.
On Tuesday afternoon, JCM TV presenter Lizz Wangui Muchiri humbly apologized for her behavior during a recent controversial conversation with Bishop Benson Gathungu, also known as Muthee Kiengei.

The journalist took to her social media accounts to defend herself following the intense criticism and backlash from online users regarding the show, which has sparked widespread outrage among Kenyans.

In her statement, Ms. Wangui apologized for laughing while her guest mocked content creator Pritty Vishy, clarifying that it was not her intention to be disrespectful.

She explained that her laughter was triggered by the accent Kiengei used when mocking Vishy and her ex-boyfriend, Stevo Simple Boy.

“I want to say that I am a woman like Pritty Vishy and I am also a parent. It is not, and never will be, my joy to mock anyone, especially a woman, for their appearance. I did not laugh out of malice or intention, but rather it was the accent my guest used that made me laugh,” Ms. Wangui explained.

She added, “So, I sincerely apologize to my sister Pritty Vishy, to my followers, and to anyone who was offended by our remarks. To err is human, and I ask you to find it in your hearts to forgive me or us.”

The TV presenter’s apology came after her boss, Mr. Kiengei, also apologized to Pritty Vishy for the offensive remarks he made during the IHUHUKANIO show.

In his apology, the bishop acknowledged that his comments were inappropriate and urged the content creator to find it in her heart to forgive him.

“Pritty Vishy, I am very sorry, and I take this moment to apologize for mentioning your name during the show and addressing you in the wrong, inappropriate manner. Please find it in your heart to forgive me,” Kiengei said via Facebook.

The entertainer, who is also a bishop at a well-known church in Nairobi, promised not to repeat the same mistake and extended an invitation to Vishy to visit his church.

“This will not happen again in the future. I take it as my mistake. I apologize, my sister, and you are very welcome to JCM CHURCH, THE CHURCH OF ALL PEOPLE,” he said.
