Despite presence of heavy security agencies across the country, Kisumu is one of places where the anti-government demonstrations took place unlike several regions.

However as relayed by a report covered by K24 TV, Kisumu residents are appealing to the former prime minister Raila Odinga to make the anti-government demonstrations a weekly activity.

According to them, the cost of living is high and Ruto’s government has failed to address key issues facing them.

The residents called on Ruto’s government to hand utmost respect to the veteran opposition leader branding him as their president.

“Hii maandamano itaendelea na tunataka Rais wetu Raila Odinga pia next week aweke maandamano wiki nzima kwa sababu gharama ya maisha iko juu,” Kisumu Residents.

This comes hours after Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition via Ugunja constituency member of parliament Hon Opiyo Wandayi called on kenyans to avail themselves at Uhuru park in Nairobi for a peaceful demonstrations.

However speaking this evening, president William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua castigated Raila Odinga’s move of staging mass action demonstrations.

Gachagua claimed Ruto’s can’t engage with him following loss of in lives and massive destruction of properties that was witnessed during the previous demos.
