Technical University of Kenya (TUK) students on Tuesday staged demos in Nairobi demanding the re-opening of the institution.

The university was closed on February 3, 2025, following a lecturers strike.

The protest began at the school as the students marched to the Ministry of Education headquarters in the Central Business District, Nairobi.

The students were, however, denied entry into the education ministry headquarters.

They continued protesting at the gates of the ministry before police resorted to using teargas to disperse the students.
