Following a succession of anti-government protests around the country, Professor Kithure Kindiki, the interior cabinet secretary, has issued a warning to the leaders of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition.

The CS refuted claims that the government was reluctant to pursue the famous persons who were in charge of planning and funding the protests.

According to the CS, police were pursuing those responsible for the mayhem and the burning of police vehicles on July 12 in the Mavoko region in response for protesters who shut down businesses in at least 20 counties.

“Try that monkey business on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. You will regret for a very long time,” CS Kithure Kindiki warns Azimio over planned anti-government protests.

He vowed that the Kenya Kwanza administration would no longer take the situation lightly in light of Kenyans and entrepreneurs counting their losses as some of the populace takes to the streets in protest of increased living costs.

The CS addressed residents in Kajado North Constituency on Thursday after the Kiserian Police Station opened and disclosed that 312 people had been detained in connection with property destruction and involvement in an illegal rally.
