Speaking during an informal engagement with Bunge la Mwananchi caucus in Nairobi on Monday, February 3, 2025, Treasury CS John Mbadi has warned those who are accustomed to stealing government’s money.
CS Mbadi said that the government has no money to waste. He went ahead to say that there is no money in the government to steal.
“The government has no money to waste. Those who are accustomed to stealing, I want to tell them that’s enough. There is no money in this government to steal,” Mbadi said.
In addition, Mbadi said that the government will not introduce additional tax adjustments on key taxation avenues such as Value Added Tax (VAT) and employment tax in the upcoming Finance Bill 2025 set to be submitted to the National Assembly for approval.
He went ahead to say that the government has reached a limit where there was no space to pursue as far as taxation of employment income is concerned.
