The Senate sitting has unveiled eleven member committee who will investigate and recommend whether or not Meru County Governor Kawira Mwangaza’s impeachment was of a reason, they will investigate to know if Kawira Mwangaza will stay in the office or not as the Governor of Meru County. Kawira Mwangaza was impeached last week and her impeachment is now at the Senate house.

The members of the committee includes, Kakamega County Senator Boni Khalwale, Uasin Gishu county Jackson Mandago, Kiambu County Karungo Thangwa, Nominated senator Esther Okenyuri, Mandera County Senator Ali Roba, Senator Peris Tobiko, Kitui senator Enoch Wambua, Abdul Haji, Busia County Senator Okiya Omtata, nominated senator Crystal Asige and Shakila Abdalla.

Among the senators who have been selected, it has been interesting to see Kakamega County Senator Boni Khalwale in the list of the senators who will determine if Kawira Mwangaza will retain her office as the Meru County Governor. Boni Khalwale was among the senators who sat in the committee that last probe the impeachment of Kawira Mwangaza.

All eyes will be on his new Committ on what the decision they will come up with over the removal of the Meru County Governor Kawira Mwangaza from the office. Kawira Mwangaza was impeached by all the 59 MCAs who were present during her impeachment process. The governor was accused of allegations touching on various issues in the County.

Kawira Mwangaza will know her fate after the 11 selected senators finishes their investigations, however today Kawira Mwangaza’s supporters come out in large numbers to show support after matching out to the streets shouting, “gavana ni mama na ndiye tunataka.”
