Julie Gichuru and Anthony Gichuru’s love story would make a lovely romantic movie if you ask me. The couple that has been married for the past 18 years celebrated their anniversary yesterday.
Julie as is norm commemorated the anniversary on her Instagram page writing,
“18 years of marriage, 22 years of love ❤❤❤Happy Anniversary my simba, the gift of my life is you, our children and our home. Thank you for loving me and making God the centre of our home ????????????”
The couple met in 1999 though their families had interacted for a while before then. Julie was hesitant about formalizing their union because she had witnessed her parent’s divorce.
Before getting married the couple had two kids, Kimoshe and Njeri before Anthony was able to convince Julie to change her mind.
They would hold their wedding on November 29th, 2003. In the past, Julie admitted how she was wary about marrying a former Jamhuri High School alumni (which Anthony is).
Last year in June she reminisced about the fact writing,
“So, when I was in high school, many, many, many years ago ? we would panic when Jamu boys came through our all-girls convent school, Msongari…Jamu boys coming through Msongari meant that there had been a rugby match. Often these matches with Jamu (in particular) left our brothers and friends battered and bruised. We were concerned.

They walked through our school with high energy making their presence known – they were loud and unapologetic.“Gosh!” us girls would say to each other. “These Jamu boys are just too much! Tsk! Tsk!”..Lol! Then I went and married one ??????❤❤❤ ”
