By publicly voicing his displeasure with junior political figures within his own party, President William Ruto has heightened tensions.

Insiders who talked to the Standard Newspaper on Monday on condition of anonymity disclosed that Ruto is extremely displeased with the verbal altercations that have occurred in the Mt. Kenya and Rift Valley areas between these leaders and Deputy President Hon.

Rigathi Gachagua. Insiders caution that Ruto, in his capacity as Head of State, is keeping a careful eye on the situation and that it won’t be long before he officially confronts those who have sowed conflict between him and Gachagua.

The President’s next action is yet unknown, but one thing is certain: tension has been sown, and its growth has the potential to drastically alter Kenyan politics.

The event occurred just hours after Kapseret MP Hon. Oscar Sudi advised leaders who felt intimidated by him to stay away, seemingly in retaliation to DP Gachagua.

“All I’m doing is going where President Ruto has led. I am his pupil. For this reason, you will see me traveling, taking flights, and accumulating money for other churches.

He asserted that “everyone is free to go wherever they want,” alleging that his audacity and generosity have alarmed some authorities. Source: Monday, July 27, 2024, Nation Newspaper
