Maureen who her husband plucked off her eye and cut off her fingers couldn’t hide her tears of Joy after well wishers came to her rescue after her story was aired by Afrimax tv.
According to her she is the firstborn in a family of four and her parents passed on when she was 15 years, she decided to move to the city to search for work in order to support her siblings .
when she moved to Nairobi to work as a house girl she met her husband who told her that he would marry her and take care of her siblings, She was very happy and she accepted and they moved into his house.
She claims the marriage was okay but things started changing when she got pregnant and the husband told her to get rid of the baby as he was not ready to raise a baby but she refused .
she claims that the husband became very violent and would beat her up even when pregnant having no where to go she persevered and bore him four children but one died in a fire accident .
The husband blamed Maureen for the kid’s death and said she wanted the child back Maureen decided to ran away in search of a better life for her kids and left them with their father.
She says one day the husband called her to come for the kids or else he would kill them and when she came that very night is when she gouged out her eye and cutt off her fingers but neighbours came to her rescue.
Maureen was taken to hospital and the husband was never arrested even after reporting him.After her story was aired by Afrimax tv many people came to her rescue and helped she couldn’t hide her joy as she was given the money contributed to her by well wishers.
Some supported her in paying rent and she was given money to start up a business and to educate her siblings, She Couldn’t hide her tears of Joy and has thanked everyone who contributed to help her.
