ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo has issued a strong warning to the Kikuyu community, cautioning them against political decisions that could leave them out of government.

Speaking in Kirinyaga, Kabogo told the community in Kikuyu. “Jamii ya Central Kenya mchunge sana. Mnaweza fanya mchezo kwa hii miaka miwili mjipate nje, rudi kwa serikali tukule pamoja.”Photo // Courtesy

Translated, he urged them to be careful, saying they might play games in the next two years only to find themselves outside government, forced to return seeking to eat together with those in power.

The CS dismissed calls by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for a one-term presidency, terming the narrative reckless.

Kabogo insisted the Mt Kenya region is already benefiting under President William Ruto, citing infrastructure projects like the Nairobi -Thika Expressway expansion and the affordable housing programme.

He warned that divisive politics would jeopardize these gains. “Unity is how we benefit. Division will only take us backwards,” Kabogo said.

His remarks were echoed by Irrigation CS Eric Mugaa, who said a divided mountain becomes weak and irrelevant. The warnings come amid growing political tensions as leaders position themselves ahead of future elections.
