Tahidi High’s Miss Morgan landed a role on the most talked-about play at the Kenya National Theatre. Miss Morgan plays a role of a judge in Nuts 2 where the fate of a young lady who is wrongly locked up at Mathari Mental Hospital is in her hands.
Nuts is a dramatic tragicomedy about denial of love, family strife, betrayal and murder that threaten to tear a powerful family apart. It is thrilling, fast, razor-sharp, full of funny situations, filled with innuendoes that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Olivia (Helena Waithera famous for her role as the psychotic girlfriend in Tabasamu) is at a cross-road. Her billionaire step-father (Bilal Wanjau, famous for his role as the bursar in Tahidi High and the Governor) has a sordid hidden past that is about to be exposed.
Her mother (Nungo Marianne) who loves the high life covers-up her husband’s perverted lifestyle even when her own daughter becomes his next victim. Both her mother and step-father gang up with the prosecutor (Bokeba Mbotela) and crooked psychiatrist (Mourad Sadat) to have her locked up at Mathare mental hospital as a mentally-deranged patient. In the battle of her life, she pleads with high court judge (Angel Waruinge, famous as Miss Morgan of Tahidi High), police officer (Dr. Pepe) for mercy aided by her sharp and witty state-appointed lawyer (Bilal Mwaura).
The play is produced by Abuto Eliud and directed by Esther Kamba. Phylis Kung’a and Victor Opura handle the stage management.
Nuts 2 will be showed at the at Kenya National Theatre on Friday 16th December at 6 and 8pm and on Saturday 17th December at 3 and 6pm.
