Tables have began turning against the Kirima family in the Njiru land row after the Italian whom the family claimed sold the land to their late father emerged and denied the allegations.
In a new court application seeking to be enjoined to the case, Dominico De Masi who was the administrator of the said Njiru land says that he never sold the land to the late Kirima contrary to family narrations on how their father acquired the land.
In court papers, the administrator has claimed that he has been in touch with the settlers and negotiations on payments have been going on. “He had no knowledge of the case that the family had launched against the settlers,” said De Masi’s lawyer.
Farther, the new case filed by the lawyers of the administrator is seeking to have the December 31st eviction notice squashed by the court.
It should be noted that a number of leaders including president William Ruto had asked the settlers to take the negotiation way after the court rightfully determined that the land belonged to the late Kirima.
The member of Parliament representing Embakasi East Constituency honourable Babu Owino is among the key leaders who have taken keen interest in the case. With the new appeal, a fierce Court battle is looming between the family, the settlers and the alleged administrator of the land.
