Speaking on TV 47, Tabitha Karanja stated that she expected the governor to provide her with a perfect environment to deliver for the people of Nakuru, but she was shocked when she found it hard to work especially when she started criticizing the governor.
Tabitha asserted that her relationship with Susan Kihika deteriorated when she began calling out the governor over the county’s poor health care system.
Tabitha before Kihika’s leadership, Nakuru was among the top four in the country when it came to health matters. However, the county’s health sector has deteriorated, with doctors and nurses crying as private hospitals take over the sector.
“She (Governor Susan Kihika) was a Senator first, and I thought, being my predecessor, I would have the environment to play my role as the Senator of Nakuru County. But I was shocked to see that the minute I mentioned something representing the people, especially regarding the hospital, medical, and Health sectors deteriorating every day.” Tabitha stated.
“We were among the top four in the health sector in the country, and now we’re almost at the tail, with doctors and nurses crying, and private hospitals taking over,” Tabitha Karanja said.
She further stated that she may ran for the position of Governor just to prove that things can be done and to demonstrate that women can.
“Yes, why not? To prove that it can be done, if that is the case, I will,” Tabitha said when asked if she can take the position of Governor in the future.
