Supermodel Ajuma Nasanyana offered free modelling services to a big corporate in a bid to show dark-skinned young girls that they are beautiful.
She was turned down.
Ajuma who blazed the trail and turned many heads on many international catwalks and runways was neer appreciated back home.
Speaking to Cleaning The Airways vlog with Richard Njau, Ajuma explained, “Kenyans with me have never been able to think out of the box when it comes to colour.”

Ajuma reminisced, “I came back and I wanted to break that barrier so badly.”
Adding, “I even offered somebody to do a campaign for them for free just so they can put up a dark-skinned girl like me on a billboard so as to empower girls who are my skin tone. But no.”
She continued, “They refused. They said ‘I’m sorry that is out of our comfort zone!’.”
