Keroche heiress Anerlisa Muigai and her family have been in the news this past week and the chief reason is the inquest into the death of her late sister Tecra.
One thing that astute Kenyans have noticed is the weight loss that her mother Tabitha has undergone as she took the stand to speak on her late daughterâs death.
In a post on her social media page, the Nero Water CEO furiously defended her mom saying that the weight loss was a good thing as it had been occasioned by a choice to live a healthy lifestyle.
âLEAVE MY MUM ALONE!!! Her weight loss is fine and itâs something we decided as a family that we all wanted to shed off Excess weight. #HealthyLiving.â
She also shared before and after images of herself, her brother and mother, Tabitha Karanja, showing off how they had all lost weight.

Her post is a reaction to the vigourous exchanges that had taken place online concerning the rapid weight loss of one of the countries richest women, with some attributing it to sickness.
The question one can ask is whether Kenyans had any right in asking about Anerlisaâs motherâs rapid weight loss? I think they had and two reasons come to mind;
First, she is a public figure and scrutiny in oneâs life will always come with the territory.
Secondly, while Kenyans are a nosey bunch, sometimes our concern can actually be genuine. Just recently that trait shorn through as many from the +254 came together to fundraise for the financially struggling Tahidi High rapper, Omosh.
So while Anerlisa might be unhappy with the speculation, she should realise that the only thing in life that you can control is what you say and do, not how others react to you.
