President William Ruto announced that the prices of maize flour as of this coming week will go down. Kenyans as always were quick to react to this. To many this are just ‘story za jaba’ from the president. To those who don’t understand what that means ‘jaba’ is a slang for miraa. When people chew miraa they always tend to give unrealistic stories or in short stories that can not be true. You will hear them say things such as they can fly, they intend to earn millions and many others.

Kenyans have concluded that this promise from Ruto is just like that from people that chew miraa. It is just an unrealistic and untrue story. The reason Kenyans believe this is mainly because of other promises that the president has made before but not delivered on them. Things such as the price of fertilizer will go down and the economy will be better than it has ever been. All these have been ‘story za jaba’ to Kenyans and will be until maybe he fulfills atleast one of his promises.
