Political Analyst Herman Manyora has urged President William Ruto, his government and leaders allied to the Kenya Kwanza Alliance camp to leave the former President Uhuru Kenyatta alone.
A section of UDA leaders yesterday called for the arrest of Uhuru and the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga over the protests witnessed in Nairobi and a few other counties on Monday.
Through his you Tube Channel on Wednesday, Manyora said that the retired presidents should be left alone, saying that neither Daniel Moi went after Jomo Kenyatta’s family, nor Kibaki after Moi, or Uhuru after Kibaki.
He warned the Kenya Kwanza team to stop playing politics and blame Uhuru on different issues the government of Ruto is unable to do, saying it is time Ruto and his allies realize Uhuru had retired and raise to the occasion and solve the issues affecting Kenyans at the moment.
“If a president has retired leave them, let them go home peacefully. I am asking the Kenya Kwanza government to leave Uhuru alone. Do not play politics with the name of Uhuru Kenyatta.”
‘You might think it is serving your interests now, cover for your failures to deliver or you want to do something wrong and think that Kenyans will forget no, it will not help you.”
The University of Nairobi lecturer further dismissed calls by UDA leaders to have Uhuru and Raila arrested, saying that President Ruto cannot do that since he is aware of what might happen afterwards and which might take the country to its knees.
