In unexpected outburst, Pastor James Ng’ang’a, the controversial founder of Neno Evangelism, has sternly warned degree holders to steer clear of his church.

In a video that quickly went viral on social media, Pastor Ng’ang’a passionately expressed his disdain for highly educated individuals, asserting that their influence does not belong in spiritual spaces like his.

His comments come amidst debates on government proposals to regulate religious institutions, which include suggestions that pastors undergo formal theological education.

“Degree holders, don’t come to where I am preaching. Go to your churches where you attend short services of two minutes,” he declared, making it clear that he does not believe the learned can grasp or control spiritual matters.

Ng’ang’a took his argument further by pointing to religious history, citing King David and the prophets as examples of spiritually significant figures who lacked formal education.

Ng’ang’aHis statements suggest that, in his view, spirituality and divine calling are separate from academic achievement, and that the learned should not interfere with religious leadership, which he believes is divinely guided and not academically based.

The pastor also blamed highly educated individuals for contributing to what he sees as social and moral decay.

Specifically, he accused educated elites of pushing agendas that have led to the legalization of homosexuality, a subject that remains contentious in Kenya.

“The learned people have ruined the world. They are the ones who have brought up this issue of homosexuality. The judges approved homosexuality, and you saw it,” Ng’ang’a said, directing blame at the judiciary for endorsing these issues.
