Sorrow and deep sadness have engulfed Ndundu Parish in Gatundu South following the tragic death of a renowned Catholic catechist, James Njoroge Kabari, who lost his life in a fatal road accident in the Karai area along the Naivasha highway.

The tragic accident occurred on Monday, January 5th, 2026, leaving the local Catholic community and residents of Gatundu South in shock and mourning.

Catechist James Njoroge Kabari died on the spot together with his wife, Teresia Wanjiru, and their two young children, Michael, aged six years, and John Mark, aged one year. The accident has been described as devastating, wiping out almost an entire young family in a single tragic moment.

According to church officials and family members, the family was traveling when the accident happened at Karai, an area known for frequent road crashes along the busy Naivasha highway.

James Njoroge Kabari was a well-known and respected catechist who served faithfully at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Ridgeways.
