Tuesday, the 27th of August, was indeed a special day for Saumu Mbuvi, who is the first-born daughter of former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko.

This is because the day officially marked 16 years since she unfortunately lost her beloved mother, by the moniker of Janet Njeri Wangui.

Saumu Mbuvi therefore marked the anniversary in style, by penning a heartwarming message for her late mother Njeri Wangui on her Instagram stories.

In the message she said that though it has been long since she died, the loss still feels fresh.

Saumu Mbuvi however also said that she still holds on to the beautiful memories of the late Njeri Wangui.

“Though its been 16years since you left us it still feels like yesterday, your memory is a treasure we keep in our hearts. Keep resting in perfect peace Dear mama, forever my guardian angel” She wrote.

Saumu Mbuvi also accompanied the message with a photo of the late Janet Njeri Wangui, that was taken awhile back. The photo showed just how beautiful she was when she was still alive.

The move by Saumu Mbuvi to mark the 16th death anniversary of her mom today means that she lost her in 2008.

According to reports, she was only 14-years-old when she unfortunately lost her mother.

The huge loss that she suffered when she was a teenager was therefore indeed a big blow to her.

Speaking about it in the past, she said that it was indeed an “everlasting sadness” and one of the “deepest sorrows the heart can know”.

According to reports, the late Njeri Wangui was actually the high school sweetheart of former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko.
