A tragic story has emerged from Roysambu, Nairobi, where a young man lost his life after consuming a local alcoholic beverage with a chilling label “Rest in Peace.”

Francis Muchina, fondly known as Kevo by his loved ones, was 32 years old. According to reports, the incident occurred a few days ago. Francis reportedly consumed the liquor, which also bore an image of a casket on the label. Moments later, he fell ill and began vomiting blood. Despite efforts to seek medical attention, Francis succumbed to the effects of the drink.

Journalist Simon Kibe shared details of the heartbreaking event, showing the suddenness of Muchina’s passing on March 4, 2024, and the immense grief his family is grappling with.

This incident raises serious concerns about the unregulated sale of illicit alcohol in Kenya. The bizarre labeling of this particular drink only adds to the tragedy. Local authorities are urged to investigate the source of this dangerous substance and take necessary steps to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
