The former governor dismissed claims that his intervention was politically motivated ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that his concern was purely humanitarian. He insisted that compassion and justice for grieving families should not be obstructed by politics, despite suggestions from some politicians.

Recently while he was Senator he welcomed Citizen TV journalists to his home, for the recording of their ‘Newsmakers’ series. It’s no secret that Sonko is filthy rich. He said he gets his money from his matatu and land businesses.Whatever amount he makes will probably continue to remain a mystery, but for sure it’s much. So much that he can afford a house in Runda, and a motorcade of 6 vehicles.
