Following the tragic death of world marathoner Kelvin Kiptum, recent reports indicates how kenyans have condoled with the family of the deceased.

As relayed by a report covered on KTN news, residents of Chepsamo village in Keiyo South have gathered at home of World Marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum to condole with his family.

It should be noted that president William Ruto has well eulogized Kelvin Kiptum who was involved in a car accident yesterday at 11pm.

The accident resulted into the death of Kiptum and his coach with only a lady surviving has been discharged from the hospital.

“Kelvin Kiptum was a star. Arguably one of the world’s finest sportsmen who broke barriers to secure a marathon record.He was only 24 yet, as a hero, triumphed in Valencia, Chicago, London and in other top competitions. His mental strength and discipline were unmatched. Kiptum was our future”, Ruto wrote.

“An extraordinary sportsman has left an extraordinary mark in the globe. Our thoughts are with the family and the sporting fraternity. Rest In Peace”, he added.
